Rah, Rah, Rally Quilt

66 x 82

This pattern can be found in the Moda Bakeshop book Sweet Celebrations. I mostly used Melissa's applique tutorial for the logo of my local college.  Mine wasn't as complicated as hers so I just layered the full pieces together. It is a little thick, but I think it still looks okay.

I used monopoly thread to quilt the entire thing, even the appliqued letters.  I traced around the S, the E, and the black outside oval.

For the back I used a medium blue minky because I made this to be a stadium quilt. It's large enough for two people and it is perfect for the couch in the winter too. I love this pattern because it easily fits any school or team colors. Can't wait until I have a college student to give one to!

You can get one for yourself in your team colors in my etsy shop. I have three sizes available.

  1. It's a striking team quilt! Great idea to sell it as a made-to-order item in your shop too.

  2. Yes It is a very striking quilt! I saw it in your shop the other day as I was referring back to some of your listings again;0 You are my inspiration!

  3. Hi Shannon,
This is just great and makes me think football isn't too far away. Right? Doesn't preseason start at the end of July for the pros. Well, back to your cute and wonderful quilt. I expect you will receive tons and tons of orders for this in your Etsy shop. It won't be long and all those new grads will be heading to their new school, and will need to show some school spirit. ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. This quilt I really liked!
    It was nice colors together.

  5. Shannon, What a great finish. Too funny, I made the same quilt this spring and in the same colors, for myself to use at my daughters college soccer games. You can see mine on my blog. IT was such a fun easy pattern.
